Established in 2005, DeMarseCo is an investment company with a focus on digital media and information, including both content-based and marketing-services businesses.
Working with Austin Ventures (AV), DeMarseCo identifies businesses that combine DeMarseCo’s experience in the information and media industries and AV's long record of building valuable services companies. DeMarseCo brings extensive expertise in advertising-supported, subscription and transaction business models. As online media, information and publishing continue to fragment, these segments have exciting organic growth and consolidation potential.
DeMarseCo has a proven track record in developing assets for sale and/or consolidation in a variety of sectors in emerging and traditional media. In its advisory capacity, DeMarseCo clients have ranged from large multinational corporations to small-to-mid-cap growth stage companies to hedge funds, venture capital and private equity investors.
Sample assignments have included evaluation of portfolio investments, operational due diligence, developing strategic growth plans, managing new product development and launches and providing interim management.
Elisabeth DeMarse, Founder
Elisabeth DeMarse is CEO and President of DeMarseCo, Inc., which she founded in 2005. She is an information and media industry veteran with broad experience in the digital information business, traditional media (television, radio, book and magazine publishing) and new media. Her particular expertise is developing new products and brands. She is a financial services industry expert with extensive US and international business experience in financial information and technology. Her 20-year employment history includes positions as CEO, President and Executive Vice President with such prestigious entities as Bloomberg L.P., where she was one of the principal architects of the company's expansion and growth. Hoover’s, Inc., Bankrate, Inc. and Citibank. Her broad range of functional expertise includes: management; top-line growth; technology; operations; brand strategy; marketing; new business ventures; deal negotiations; acquisitions; business turnarounds; and innovative new product development. She is recognized for developing and leading high profile businesses and as an industry spokesperson.
A member of The Committee of 200, DeMarse is a cum laude graduate of Wellesley College, where she was a Durant Scholar, and of Harvard Business School, with an emphasis in marketing.
